talkSPORT BET's 1000 Guineas Betting Odds & Guide

The 1000 Guineas Stakes is one of the biggest and most prestigious horse races in the world. The Group 1 flat race takes place annually at Newmarket, a day after the Triple Crown 2000 Guineas event.

Alongside the 2000 Guineas, the 1000 Guineas is part of Britain’s five Classic races – The Oaks, The Derby and St Leger Stakes are the other three. It is also the opening leg of the Fillies’ Triple Crown, followed by The Oaks at St Leger.

We offer competitive ante-post odds in the lead-up to the 1000 Guineas and loads of exciting betting options and markets on race day. Bet on horse racing today at talkSPORT BET.

When and Where is the 1000 Guineas?

The 1000 Guineas is run on the Rowley Mile racecourse at Newmarket in Suffolk. It’s a one-mile straight turf track, and one of the most anticipated meets of the flat racing season.

It’s open exclusively to three-year-old fillies, and it was named after its original prize fund, with the winner leaving with 1,000 Guineas (just over £1,000).

The Guineas festival is hosted every May at Newmarket, usually on the first Sunday of the month.

What are the available 1000 Guineas Markets to Bet on Horse Racing?

The Grand National at Aintree is the jump race that grabs the headlines, but the Guineas at Newmarket, alongside the Epsom Derby, are highlights of the British flat racing season.

1000 Guineas Previous Winners

Desert Flower under William Buick won the 2025 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. It was a first success for Charlie Appleby’s stable, but marked a glorious weekend double for Godolphin, after Ruling Court’s 2000 Guineas triumph on Saturday.

In 2024, Elmalka, a 28/1 shot for Roger Varian, surprised many with her triumph under Silvestre de Sousa. It was Elmalka’s third career outing, and she made a slow start before racing to the head of the pack and holding firm for de Sousa’s third career win.

Mawj won the 2023 1000 Guineas with Oisin Murphy on board, pipping the much-fancied favourite Tahiyra to write her name into the history books. It secured a second Classics victory for Murphy, following his triumph in the 2000 Guineas with Kameko in 2020.

Robson went on to win the next three in 1825, 1826 and 1827. The 1825 win was the most unique, as Tontine won via a walkover as the only runner of the race. His final victory was Arab, who was ridden home by Frank Buckle in 1827.
