Static Nightmare Abyssways Bonus Features
There are three main elements to the bonus features: grid expansions and wilds in the base game, and a free spins bonus round where it all comes together in a frenzy of win potential.
Grid Expansions
Whenever a scatter symbol lands in the base game, the reels will expand, adding up to six more random symbol positions above the reels.
Wild Symbols
The wild symbol resembles a computer robot character with ‘WILD’ written on the screens that make up the potentially four-row high symbol—the possessed PC. It can substitute for regular pay symbols to help you create winning combos and score payouts.
Whenever a scatter lands, all wilds present on the reels will expand by one symbol. At the end of each spin, if no scatter is on the reel, each wild has an independent chance of expanding. The maximum a wild can expand is to four positions high.
Free Spins Bonus
Landing three scatters in the base game will trigger eight free spins in the bonus. During free spins, reel expansion adds new symbol positions to the bottom of the reel instead. All added positions are marked for falling. Three scatters in the bonus will add eight more free spins, up to a maximum of 40 free spins in the bonus.
During the free spins bonus, all wilds are sticky and between one and three wilds are added to the reels on the first spin. If a wild expands during the bonus, then it expands downwards instead of upwards.
At the end of each spin, before marked symbols fall off the bottom, all wilds will shrink back down to one symbol tall if they were expanded, and then attempt to move horizontally. Wilds can’t cross gaps and can’t move to a position occupied by another wild. If no horizontal move is available for a wild, it will attempt to move one step upwards instead.
Wilds will try to avoid falling positions as much as possible when moving. Extra reel positions created by wild expansions are also marked for falling.
At the start of each free spin, a random number of symbols on the bottom of the reel will become marked for falling, and then at the end of each free spin, all marked symbols will fall from the reel, reducing the total reel size. Between each spin, a new full row is added on top of the reel, increasing the grid size, for a constantly changing bonus arena.
