Funky Time Live is an Evolution casino game show built around a 64-segment DigiWheel, dynamic multipliers and four interactive bonus games.
Launched in May 2023, the game combines a 1970s disco-club setting with a live presenter, digital money wheel and instant-win segments. Evolution described it as its biggest new live game-show development since Crazy Time.
The wheel contains Number 1 segments, 24 letter segments spelling PLAY, FUNK and TIME, and triggers for the Bar, Disco, VIP Disco and Stayin’ Alive bonus games. Random multipliers can also be assigned to segments before the wheel is spun.
Players win when the wheel stops on a segment they have backed. Number and letter segments provide main-game wins, while bonus segments take qualifying players into the corresponding Funky Time bonus round.

The Funky Time DigiWheel contains 64 segments:
| Segment Type | Number of Segments | Main Result |
|---|---|---|
| Number 1 | 28 | Instant main-game win |
| Letter Segments | 24 | Default payout of 25:1 |
| Bar | 6 | Triggers the Bar Bonus |
| Disco | 3 | Triggers the Disco Bonus |
| Stayin’ Alive | 2 | Triggers the Stayin’ Alive Bonus |
| VIP Disco | 1 | Triggers the VIP Disco Bonus |
The 24 letter segments spell PLAY, FUNK and TIME. Each individual letter is a separate betting position and offers a default payout of 25:1.
Before the wheel is spun, the DigiWheel can randomly generate multipliers and assign them to Number 1, letter or bonus-game segments. If a multiplied segment wins, the assigned value is applied to the qualifying result.
Funky Time has four bonus games: Bar, Stayin’ Alive, Disco and VIP Disco.
Only players who placed a bet on the winning bonus position can participate in its result, although every player at the table can watch the bonus round.
The Funky Time Bar Bonus takes place at the club’s bar, where a robot bartender prepares three drinks.
Players begin by choosing one of three empty glasses. Each glass then receives a randomly generated multiplier.
A single-reel slot produces an additional multiplier, which is randomly assigned to one of the glasses and multiplied by its existing value. The multiplier attached to the player’s chosen glass becomes their bonus result.
If the Bar segment received a multiplier during the original wheel spin, that value is applied after the glass multipliers have been determined.
Stayin’ Alive features a machine containing 90 coloured balls and a 20-level multiplier ladder beginning at 5x and rising to 10,000x.
Before the draw starts, players select one of three team colours:
Matching one-step balls move the selected team one position up the ladder, while matching two-step balls move it two positions.
Every player starts with four lives. When a black STOP ball is drawn, one life is removed without advancing any team. The bonus ends once all four lives have been lost, and the result is based on the multiplier level reached by the selected colour.
If the Stayin’ Alive segment received a DigiWheel multiplier, every value on the ladder is multiplied by that amount.
The Disco Bonus features Mr Funky moving across a 37-square virtual dance floor.
A miniature eight-segment wheel determines whether he moves up, down, left or right. Every square he lands on may contain either a Regular multiplier or a Floor multiplier.
Regular values are added together as Mr Funky moves. Floor multipliers double the values of five randomly selected Regular multiplier squares.
The bonus ends when Mr Funky moves beyond the edge of the dance floor. If the Disco segment received a multiplier during the main wheel spin, each Regular multiplier is increased before the dance begins.
VIP Disco follows the same central mechanic as the standard Disco Bonus but takes place on a larger 63-square dance floor.
Mr Funky moves around the grid collecting Regular and Floor multipliers until he falls beyond its edge. The larger floor gives him more space to move and potentially collect additional values before the feature ends.
As with the standard Disco Bonus, any multiplier assigned to the VIP Disco segment during the main game is applied to the Regular values before Mr Funky begins moving.
The DigiWheel generates random multipliers during the main game and assigns them to random segments before the final result is determined.
A multiplier can be attached to:
The way the value is applied depends on the winning position. For instant-win segments, it increases the main-game result. For bonus segments, it is carried into the relevant feature and applied according to that bonus game’s rules.
