When you start playing Medallion Megaways, the only symbols that appear on the reels are regular pay symbols until wilds and void respins symbols are unlocked with the feature stones. 

Symbols are a mixture of low-value gemstones and higher-paying gems with more intricate designs. The highest-value symbol on the reels is the golden sun, which pays 20x for matching six of a kind.

Megaways

Medallion Megaways has turned the Megaways engine on its head with varying symbol sizes rather than rows on a reel. The game’s layout features six reels with symbols appearing in sizes between one and three positions high. This creates dynamic paylines, with up to 46,656 ways to win on each base-game spin. 

Avalanche Feature 

The avalanche sequence is active in the base game and free spins. All symbols involved in a winning spin are removed from the grid to make way for an avalanche of new symbols from above. This sequence will repeat if a new winning combo lands and continue to do so until no further wins are formed. 

Each win has a multiplier applied that increases by +1 with every avalanche in the sequence. The avalanche multiplier resets between spins in the base game. 

Feature Stones & The Medallion 

There are three feature stones at the bottom of the reels, each corresponding to a different game feature. They start dormant and can be activated with the appearance of the medallion symbol, which occurs randomly at the end of a base game spin. There are three stones: 

• Expanding Wilds (pearlescent stone) 
• Void Respins (green stone) 
• Free Spins (gold stone) 

When activated, feature stones remain active until the free spins game is triggered and played, then they reset. When feature stones are active, there is a chance their feature will trigger on any spin.  

When the free spins stone is activated, the bonus starts immediately. When the other two are, their features become available from the following spin. 

Expanding Wilds 

The wild symbol can appear anywhere on reels 2-5. When the wild stone is activated, all wild symbols landing on the reels will expand to cover the entire reel. Wilds substitute for all pay symbols to help complete payline wins.  

Each expanded wild also has a wild multiplier ranging in value from x2 to x6. More than one expanding wild multiplier in a winning combo will be multiplied before being applied to your win.  

Void Respins 

When the respins stone is activated, the void respins symbol can land on the reels. Each void respins symbol that appears will remove between two and ten non-winning, non-wild symbols from the reels, then cause an avalanche to fill the spaces for a second chance to score a win. 

Free Spins Bonus 

The free spins bonus game is awarded when the medallion activates the free spins feature stone. You enter the bonus with 20 free spins, and both the expanding wild and void respins stones activate for the duration.  

During the bonus, the avalanche multiplier will not reset between spins. After the free spins bonus ends, all the feature stones are reset.
