Baccarat is one of the world’s most popular casino card games, both online and offline, and Lightning Baccarat adds a special extra layer to the gameplay.

In every round, a random number generator assigns 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 8x multipliers to between one and five cards from a virtual 52-card deck. From there, the gameplay is similar to regular baccarat, but if one of those Lightning cards appears in your winning hand, the multiplier will be applied to your win.

Lightning Baccarat features a real dealer, streaming to your device in HD from one of Evolution Gaming’s dedicated studios. Just like in a land-based casino, the dealer takes bets and hands out cards, but thanks to the technology, you can place your bets and see your cards on the screen, as you would if you were playing a slot game.  

Most of the gameplay is similar to regular baccarat. You bet on whether the player or the banker will get a hand closer to nine or if there will be a tie. 

The player and banker are each dealt an initial hand of two cards, and the values are added. Cards 2 - 9 have their face value; the Ace is one, and the rest have zero value. If the hand total goes over nine, the first digit is ignored (for example, if you have a nine and a four, the total is 13, and the score becomes 3). 

The difference with Lightning Baccarat is that before the round begins, up to five cards are chosen to be Lightning Cards, and each of these is assigned a multiplier of up to 8x. This process is all random. If one of those Lightning Cards appears in the winning hand you bet on, the multiplier is added to your win, so if you happen to get one, you could see your wins multiplied by 8x.

The payout you get when you’re playing Lightning Baccarat will largely depend on whether any Lighting Cards appear in the winning hand that you bet on and what those multipliers are. 

Outside of the Lightning Cards, the odds and payouts are the same as you’d expect at a regular baccarat table, as outlined below. One thing that’s different is that the tie bet pays out less than it does in the regular version of the game. 

Lightning Baccarat is similar to regular baccarat, so it doesn’t come with many bonus features, except the major one: the Lightning Cards. The cards randomly assigned to the multipliers will be displayed on the screen so you’ll know immediately if one has been included in your winning hand. 

You'll get all the multipliers if more than one Lightning Card appears in your winning hand. For example, if the two cards in the hand have multipliers of eight and five, you’ll get [your win] X 8 + X 5.
