After Luke Littler set the darts world on fire to win the 2024 title, his namesake, Luke Humphries, triumphed in a thrilling finish in 2025 at the O2 Arena.
The two Englishmen look set to dominate the darts world this coming decade and will likely feature in the final stages of the next Premier League Darts showpiece.

The 2026 Premier League Darts season begins in February 2026 and will run until the end of May. Once again, the final night will be held at London’s O2 Arena.
The 2026 iteration of PL Darts follows the same format used every year since 2022. Organised by the PDC, every night consists of an eight-person KO bracket, with each of the seven matches played in a first-to-six-legs format.
Eight players will compete in the 2026 Premier League and will meet each other at least once in quarter-final matches during the first seven weeks of the competition. Then, players receive two points per semi-final finish and three points per runner-up finish. For every final won, a player will receive five points.
At the end of the league stage, the top four players will compete in the semi-finals at the O2 Arena in London. The semi-final is a best-of-19-legs match, while the final is contested over the best-of-21 legs.
The top four players on the PDC Order of Merit qualify automatically for Premier League Darts, while the remaining four players are invited as wild cards.
The full line-up for Premier League Darts 2026 has not yet been confirmed, but we can reasonably expect to see Humphries and Littler return.
Sixteen venues will be selected to host Premier League Darts fixtures in 2026, but the exact cities and arenas have yet to be announced.
We can expect London’s O2 Arena to once again host the final, while fan-favourite venues like Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Leeds, and Glasgow will likely feature in 2026.

Humphries is the defending Premier League Darts champion after defeating Littler 11-8 in the 2026 final. This was the reverse of the 2024 final, in which Littler defeated Humphries 11-7, both held in London.
Michael van Gerwen is the most decorated player in Premier League Darts history. The Dutchman has won the title seven times between 2005 and 2026. His most recent triumph came in 2024 when he defeated Gerwyn Price 11-5 in the final.
Phil Taylor won six PL Darts titles during his career. He won the first four events between 2005 and 2008, with his last triumph coming in a 10-7 victory over Simon Whitlock in 2012.
The only other players to have won a PL title are James Wade (2009), Gary Anderson (2011 & 2015), Raymond van Barneveld (2014), Glen Durrant (2020), and Jonny Clayton (2021).
After his incredible rise to the top of the sport, Littler will once again be among the favourites to win the Premier League Darts title. He’s a fan favourite and will have the backing of vociferous support on each game week.
Humphries, who defeated Littler to win the 2026 title, will also have short odds going into the Premier League Darts season. Many expect him to retain his crown in 2026.
Third in the betting will likely be seven-time Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen, who loves the PL format.
