Ian Garry Odds

The UFC has not put Ian Machado Garry on another card since his title challenge in August, so there is no opponent-specific price to compare today. That will change when a bout is signed and released by the promotion. For the events that are available now, online sports betting has the wider list of fixtures and markets.

He is not beginning again from the bottom, either. Garry went the full five rounds with Islam Makhachev in Philadelphia and sits at No. 1 in the official welterweight rankings at the time of writing. The calendar moves quickly at 170lb, but he is still very much part of it. You can see the fights currently priced in the UFC betting odds section.

The fight with Makhachev

UFC 330 took place in Philadelphia on 15 August 2026. Islam Makhachev left with the welterweight belt after a unanimous decision over Garry: 49-46, 49-46 and 48-47.

The early rounds belonged largely to Makhachev's pressure. The first takedown came early. A head kick in round two then gave Garry a difficult few minutes, although he survived them. It did not finish him. Garry gradually brought the contest back towards long-range striking, especially in the third, where the body and leg kicks began to land with more regularity.

That was the intriguing part of the fight. Garry could cause problems when space opened up, but Makhachev never needed much of an invitation to reattach himself in the clinch. The champion's fourth and fifth rounds were built around control, small positional wins and denying the challenger a chance to build momentum.

The decision meant a first UFC title had slipped away, although there was no sense that Garry had been out of his depth. His performance forced Makhachev to work for every dominant position. It also made 17 straight UFC wins for Makhachev, one more than Anderson Silva's old mark.

What comes next for Ian Garry?

No return date or opponent has been confirmed. Garry has openly pushed for Michael Morales, who remains unbeaten and sits in the same part of the division. It is the sort of matchup fans can understand immediately, but it is still only a preference from Garry's side. The UFC has not announced it.

There are sensible reasons for the interest. Morales would offer a fresh, dangerous opponent rather than a rematch, and a win would give Garry a useful answer to the question that follows any title defeat: what now? A strong performance would keep the Irishman close to the belt. A defeat would make the route much less straightforward.

At the moment, Garry is simply between fights. The UFC, not a fan-made graphic or an early line, will confirm the next booking.

The results that earned his title shot are worth keeping in view. Carlos Prates was beaten across five rounds in April 2025, a measured performance after the Rakhmonov loss. Garry followed it by outpointing Belal Muhammad in November, which was a more physical test and pushed him back towards the front of the queue. Those nights are why the Makhachev defeat has not erased his position. A return against another top contender would make the picture clearer again.

Ian Garry's record and the way he fights

His career card reads 17-2, with a UFC line of 10-2. There are seven KO or TKO wins, one submission and nine decisions. Both defeats came on scorecards, first against Rakhmonov and then against Makhachev.

The 6ft 3in Dubliner carries a 74-inch reach. He works orthodox, showing opponents the jab and straight right while using the body and legs to disrupt their timing. The aim is rarely a brawl. Garry is better when he has a yard of space and can leave the exchange on his terms.

Boxing was the first sport in his background, but he also developed through judo and earned a black belt at 18. That shows itself most clearly at close quarters. Garry often stays calm when an opponent reaches his hips or pins him to the fence.

There was already a Cage Warriors welterweight title on his record before the UFC deal. Garry beat Jack Grant across five rounds for it in June 2021, his seventh professional win. Jordan Williams was then stopped with one second remaining in Garry's UFC debut.

The rise was rapid after that. The long unbeaten start included Neil Magny, Geoff Neal and Michael Page. Rakhmonov edged their five-round meeting at UFC 310, but Garry recovered in 2025 by beating Carlos Prates and Belal Muhammad before Makhachev got the call.

Welterweight, not middleweight

This is a welterweight page. Title fights are made at 170lb, with the usual one-pound allowance in a non-title UFC contest.

The tall frame gives him room to strike, yet it can invite a wrestler underneath it. That is why Garry's bouts usually come down to the first shot: does he avoid it, recover immediately, or get held down?

Middleweight has been mentioned by Garry before. It remains an idea for the future, not a plan on the UFC schedule.

Reading future Ian Garry odds

There will not be a genuine Ian Garry betting market until an opponent is attached to his name. When that happens, the event page will show the price that matters. Opening odds can change during a fight week, particularly after the weigh-in, a late injury update or a rush of betting on one side.

The simplest market is the fight winner. Picking a method asks for more. A Garry decision bet needs the judges to give him the verdict. A KO or TKO option needs a striking stoppage. Those are very different propositions, and his previous results should only be one part of the research.

It is also useful to keep round betting and totals apart. One is about when a contest finishes; the other is about whether it passes a stated point. A five-round main event gives both fighters more time to take over than a standard 15-minute contest, which can change the way a price should be read.

When the fight is under way, the in-play UFC markets may open. A knockdown or a sustained grappling spell can turn a price on its head, and markets may suspend while the exchange is happening. Same Game Multis can be available on selected bouts, although all selections must win.

How to place an Ian Garry bet

When the next fight is on the sportsbook, select the UFC event and then Garry's bout. Read the market, its live price and the settlement rules before adding a selection to the bet slip. Then look again before confirming the stake.

A good starting point is the opponent's route to victory. Can he close the distance? Does the fight last three rounds or five? And has the price allowed for those answers?

Latest Ian Garry odds

Garry lost to an exceptional champion in August but remains high in the welterweight order. A fight with Morales makes sporting sense, although it is still unconfirmed. His next booking, rather than the noise around it, will show how quickly he can put himself back in title contention.

There are no specific Ian Garry odds until then. The latest sports offers page has the terms in full.
