After a good successful evening at Kempton yesterday, we’re going to Chelmsford this evening for three rides and we’re starting off with Watch Blue Point for James Tate in the novice race, six furlongs. He’s been running twice over five and his form doesn’t look great, but he’s had a couple of excuses. He’s still learning. I think the step up to six will do him good from a good draw, he may just outrun his odds of 14/1. So I think Watch Blue Point is either going to get this third run for a mark or he could run a better race than that in an open race.
We’re then riding Stanley Spencer, for James Tate again. A very good winner, two starts back around Kempton with me on him and he was a solid fourth, not beaten very far in an ultra competitive racing league sprint around Wolverhampton. Coming back into calmer waters, a little bit of a difficult draw, but he’s an on speed runner and Stanley Spencer, I think operating a mark of 72 has a little bit more to play. I’ll be expecting a good run from Stanley Spencer.
The third ride we have is Gaiety Musical for Dave Evans. Only a handful of runs, very consistent. I was a good second on her two starts back around Chelmsford over 7 furlongs. Stepping up to a mile I think will suit. A little bit of a tricky draw, but not a very strong race, so I’m hoping that this is her chance to get her head in front. She is knocking on the door, ready to win.
