When is the FA Cup Final for the 2024/25 season?

Posted on March 18, 2025March 18, 2025 By Armin Kianmehr

The FA Cup is the most famous club competition in world football. It also happens to be the oldest. It’s a chance for minnows to lock horns with giants – for David to slay Goliath. For some English clubs, the FA Cup can provide a financial lifeline, as well as a chance of landing some silverware.

The 2024/2025 FA Cup campaign is nearing its conclusion, and attention among talkSPORT BET bettors is already shifting to the competition’s final at Wembley Stadium.

2025 FA Cup Final Date and Time

The 2024/25 FA Cup final will be contested on Saturday, 17th May 2025. The venue will, unsurprisingly, be London’s Wembley Stadium. As yet, the kick-off time remains unspecified. Although looking at recent kick-off times in the last three FA Cup finals shows it’s likely to be either 3.00 pm or 5.30 pm.

Semi-Final Dates and Venue for 2024/25 FA Cup

The four lucky teams to reach the semi-final stage of the FA Cup will also get to play at Wembley. Since 2008, all FA Cup semi-final matches have been staged at Wembley. Prior to this, they were hosted at Old Trafford and Villa Park, with other neutral venues sometimes required, depending on the clubs involved.

The date for the semi-finals of the 2024/25 FA Cup campaign has been set for Saturday, 26th April 2025.

Which Teams Are in Good Shape to Make a Push for the 2024/25 FA Cup Final?

The 2024/25 FA Cup has seen several shocks and most of the favourites, including the defending champions, Manchester United, are no longer in the competition at the quarter-final stage.

Preston North End are the only non-Premier League side remaining in the competition. They will host Aston Villa at Deepdale in the quarter-final. They beat local rivals Burnley in the previous round and will hope to defeat Aston Villa to secure a place at Wembley Stadium in April.

After making it to the UEFA Champions League quarter-final and the FA Cup quarter-final, Villa fans will look at 2025 as the perfect opportunity for the club to win its first major silverware this century.

The FA Cup draw, like the Champions League draw, has been extremely kind to Aston Villa. They’ve had relatively straightforward home ties against West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Cardiff City to make it this far.

If they can overcome Championship Preston in the quarter-final, they will fancy their chances of going all the way.

Of all the teams remaining in the FA Cup this season, Manchester City are the only team to have won the trophy this century.

Given City’s poor Premier League and Champions League campaign in 2024/25, the FA Cup represents the best chance of silverware for Pep Guardiola’s team. Unsurprisingly, Manchester City are the favourites to win this season’s FA Cup at 15/8*.

However, City have a tough tie away at Bournemouth in the quarter-final, and the Cherries will have their eye on their first-ever FA Cup win. Under Andani Iraola, Bournemouth have surpassed all expectations and are this season’s surprise package. Could they shock everyone and land their first piece of major silverware at the end of the 2024/25 season?

Champions League-chasing Nottingham Forest are also in with a good shout of winning the FA Cup this season, though they will have to navigate a tricky tie on the south coast against Brighton & Hove Albion if they’re to make it to Wembley. Forest have already beaten Brighton 7-0 this season, but they can expect a much tougher test in the FA Cup quarter-final at the Amex.

If Forest make it to the 2025 final, they will have a brilliant chance to add to their two FA Cups, as they’re the most in-form team left in the tournament at this late stage.

The other quarter-final clash is the London derby at Craven Cottage between Fulham and Crystal Palace. There’s very little between these two mid-table Premier League teams, and you could make a good case for either of them making the last four of the FA Cup.

With the quarter-final ties scheduled for 29th March 2025, we run through the outright odds for each team left in the FA Cup and explain how you can bet on this competition at talkSPORT BET Sportsbook.
