I’ve got a horse for George Baker that I won on last season, Cemhaan. He’s very familiar with the track, he loves Kempton. He’s probably better over a little bit further but he’s more than capable with plenty of speed to handle the drop back to a mile and three. A very, very handy horse. He was third at Royal Ascot last
season, so he’s more than capable and he’s in good form. I’m hoping for a big run from him.
I’ve got a filly for James Tate, Ahlain, a pretty good filly. She had a good run, in what was listed company on her last start. This filly is very solid, and I think she’s got a good run in her. I think the small field in this one will play to her strengths if it becomes tactical, I think that could do her very well here.
I’ve got Watchya in a sprint later on. This horse is a little bit frustrating. He’s very capable but at the minute, he’s kind of stuck between trips between five and six, we’re not exactly sure what his best distance is. But on a going day, he’s more than capable if the cards play right for him.
I’m going to Kempton with three rides, but I’m going with three strong rides. The weather has obviously been a challenge but we’re looking forward to the next two weeks ahead with the Craven Meeting at Newmarket looming. That to me is the real start of the season. We’ll dive more into that next week!
