We’re going to Kempton for five rides. And we start off with Legend of Leros in the London Miles series qualifier Mile Handicap. Now he is trying on some headgear Legend of Leros. He’s been somewhat very disappointing this season and although a couple of runs weren’t too bad, he’s not really showing the homework that on the track he does at home. You know his handicap mark is sliding. He’s trying new headgear. So, I’m hoping that he’s gonna turn a corner at some stage, but certainly his homework is way better than what he’s been running on the track lately. I’m hoping at some stage that he will turn a corner because he’s better than this.
And then in the Novice Stakes, we ride Eternal Spring for James Tate. Two good runs on the all-weather and nice running on 3rd last start. And there’s a lot of first time Outers in this race, couple of winners. So, it’s hard to know what we’re up against, but this filly is all right. She’s learning. She was quite green. So, hoping on her third run that she’s a little bit more clued up and keeps improving.
In the maiden we have another novice. It’s Masterofgreygoose for Joe Parr. Very eye-catching first time out around Chelmsford, hit the line quite strong. So master craftsman you expect him to definitely come on for that run. We’re expecting a bold show from Masterofgreygoose.
Then Soar Above, the evergreen 9 year old. Been running quite consistent throughout the winter handicap. Mark is lower, it’s 8 LB lower than his best winning mark. He’s 81 now. One off 89. He’s still as evergreen as ever. Running consistent. But it’s a competitive race, and he’s going to be determining how fast they go. The faster they go, the better. He finishes off quite strong. But he’ll be a place chance.
And then in the last mile and a half it’s Beau vintage from Tom Clover’s. Been running quite consistent on the all-weather, albeit without winning. Doesn’t look the easiest of rides. But last start I think at Yarmouth it was just not suited by the slow pace. So hopefully get a little bit more of an even pace this time. And we can put a line through that last run and get back to his older form, which has been running quite consistent. So Beau Vintage definitely got a chance in the last quite open race. So I’m hoping for some winners out of five rides.
