It’s that time of year again – the first major fixture of the jumps season is upon us. The Cheltenham November Meeting gives horses and jockeys the opportunity to hit the ground running on the long loop that will end back at Cheltenham in March when we welcome the Cheltenham Festival. As one of the top events in the British jump racing calendar, we’re ramping up to three days of action by taking a look at the best November Meeting odds.
The Cheltenham November Meeting 2024
Although world-famous for the prestigious Cheltenham Festival, Cheltenham Racecourse offers a wide variety of events dotted throughout the racing calendar. The upcoming November Meeting is one of the most significant, with the fixture often producing winners who go on to taste success again in March.
While this is a great starting line for those who have the Festival in their sights, there’s plenty of action between now and then to chomp down on. The Paddy Power Gold Cup and the Unibet Greatwood Hurdle are the two biggest events of the November Meeting, with a total of 20 races on the card across the weekend.
Cheltenham November Meeting Odds & Betting
Countryside Day
The standout race on Friday is the Shloer Chase, featuring the almost unstoppable Jonbon. The Grade 1 winner will look to make an early-season statement here at Cheltenham, with his closest challenge likely being from Edwardstone.
Doyen Quest offers the shortest odds at 4/1 in Friday’s From The Horse’s Mouth Podcast Handicap Hurdle. It promises to be an interesting 3 miles, with Skyjack Hijack coming in at 5/1, while Emailandy, Gowel Road, and Major Fortune are all currently offering 6/1 odds. There’s plenty of potential for surprises and a long-odds winner with such a tight and unpredictable field.
November Saturday
Ginny’s Destiny is the clear favourite for Saturday’s Gold Cup run at 11/4. It’s hard to look past him for the win, but it’s worth noting that the nearest contender at 5/1, Ga Law, has form in this race after claiming the win back in 2022.
In the Intermediate Handicap Hurdle, Doyen Quest is once again the favourite, this time at 5/1. The six year-old will be given a tough chase once again by Major Fortune and Champagne Twist, both coming in at 6/1. There’s plenty of room for upsets with relatively longs odds on the favorites and a whole host of runners coming in at 10/1.
November Sunday
The main event on Sunday is the Greatwood Hurdle, but there’s plenty of other action throughout the day. Libberty Hunter, Calico, and Petit Tonnerre all currently sit at 4/1 joint favourites for the Southam Handicap Chase while there are long odds stretching from 5/1 down to 14/1 throughout the field.
The Unibet Greatwood Hurdle is already showing interesting odds, with Dysart Enos priced at 11/4 while some experts’ favourite Burdett Road goes at 9/2. They’re lengths ahead of the rest of the field, with Go Dante currently sitting third favourite at 8/1, but the shootout for the win is certainly one to watch.
The final race we’ll mention is the 2:55 Holland Cooper Handicap Chase as there’s once again a plethora of long odds available. Current joint favourites Abuffalosoldier and Hymac are offering odds of 5/1, while Does He Know is priced at 6/1. You can get odds of between 8/1 and 20/1 on the rest of the field, with the exception of Escaria Ten who is currently priced at 40/1.
