Heading to Windsor today for 3 rides and first up we’ve got The Amazon. The Amazon in the maiden last time was a little bit disappointing over 7 but I thought he showed a lot of gate speed, showed a lot of speed throughout the race and then just didn’t quite get up the hill at Newmarket. I suggested coming back to six, so hopefully back to six furlongs in an easier race. There is one in there to beat of Clive Cox’s, but I’m hoping for a better showing from The Amazon this time to kind of prove his homework better than to be.
Then we ride Liam Swagger, very good run for a stop on the old water. He quite surprised me, his homework had been quite lulled and he was quite laid back, but hit the line quite strong was due to run at Newmarket and kind of got a little bit wound up and got under the gates, got a bit upset so I had to be withdrawn. But I got a hood on today, so hopefully that keeps him relaxed and I think this track will suit him. Sharp flat Windsor, track mile and 1/4 and I can see him running a good race.
We’ve then got Silver Gun, a horse I know really well. Two time winner for me around this track course and distance and loves Windsor and he is back down to a winnable mark, so I’m hoping now that he is fresh for the season, he loves running up fresh. Loves the track. Everything’s in his favour today, so hopefully a big run from Silver Gunn.
