Today we’re off to Nottingham for four rides and got one in the maiden for Tom Clover. It’s had two runs. Hasn’t really shown a lot. Lone Piper. And it looks like this possibly could be its third run for a handicap mark, but we’ll see. It’s a pretty OK maiden, it’s not a very strong race, but there’s a couple of first-time outers there in Far Lane of William Haggas’ and Native Warrior of Karl Barke’s, which looks pretty hard to beat.
Then we ride in the handicap. The Mile handicap we ride beauty generation. Now Beauty Generation, I’m a winner on him before, he’s had three runs this year. Very consistent. Second, second, third. He’s first running on the grass last. That was good. He loves his on speed tracks. And the mile is perfect for him, he’s very straightforward to ride up on the speed. It’s quite an open handicap, it’s quite an open race, not a very strong race. So, I’m hoping the beauty generation is starting to hit his straps now.
Then we got Seal of Solomon in a two-mile handicap. I’m a winner on him three times before. Seal of Solomon loves these sharp on speed tracks. And yes, he’s gone up the handicap quite a bit, but he’s a tough, genuine horse and stays very well. It’s not a big field and it’s not a strong race. He could pop up at a good price.
Then I ride one, a Nogradi for Kevin Ryan, first time out. He is an American pharaoh horse. And I don’t really know much about him, but it looks like a tough novice race, so we’ll see how he goes first time out.
