I’m going to Newmarket today for two rides.
I’ve got Final Watch in the seven furlong handicap. I won this race on him last year on a wet track and he’s now 3 LB lower in the ratings since that win. He’s only had a couple of runs this year but it’s looking like with this race he needed them. So, I expect this horse to, off a 3 LB lower mark coming in off the back of two runs, I think he’s about ready to hit form now, so I’m hoping that in an open but competitive race that he can get back on track.
And we ride in the last race, we have Above who’s a winner over course and distance. I won on him last year. He won off 80 last year, he’s now off 75 and his last few runs have been very, very good. So, this horse is about ready to hit the winner’s circle, and I’m hoping today is his day and the faster they go, the better. He’s a strong finisher up the hill over five at Newmarket, so watch out for him coming late, and I think he’s definitely in the right form now to kind of go on better. So hopefully two winners that I had last year are going to come and bounce back and win again this time.
