We’re going to Kempton in the evening and probably the best pick would be Graignes trained by George Baker. This is a very capable horse. I rode him a quite a few starts back, a good fifth at Goodwood. He’s had wind surgery from last year. He’s twice a winner at Kempton Sandown. And definitely very capable if back on song. He’s a bit of a hold up horse, needs a strong pace to hit. If he gets a strong pace, he’s definitely more than capable of running over them at the end, so that’s Graignes there at an each way price.
Stanley Spencer is running in a handicap that’s 6 furlongs. He was a bit disappointing at York, but previously on the all-weather he had been running quite consistently. A little bit unlucky last start at Kempton over six. But there’s a better draw this time, and I’m hoping he can just get out and get behind the speed in what doesn’t look to be a very strong race. He’ll have a good chance. That’s Stanley Spencer for James Tate.
And maybe Lilkian who’s back on the all-weather is a good pick. Running very, very consistently on the all-weather but the handicap is a little bit high for him, but he’s won over course and distance. He’s also got a good draw, so in a non-competitive race he might have a chance as well. That’s Lilkian for Darryll Holland.
