James Bond Roulette Strategy

James Bond Roulette Strategy: Can it Help You Win?

Posted on March 25, 2024March 25, 2024 By Rachel Stuart

You might think that baccarat is the only casino game that James Bond is interested in, but there’s a roulette strategy named after him, too.

Put simply, the James Bond roulette strategy means that you’ll divide your bet into three parts in the hopes of covering as much of the table as possible. The theory is that you reduce your risk by betting on a large amount of potential outcomes.

How to apply the James Bond roulette strategy

The first thing you need to do is divide your bet into three parts. The strategy is often explained using a £20 bet, but you can bet for a smaller amount if you prefer, as long as you stick to the same proportions.

First part: The first part of your bet needs to make up 70% of the total amount. For example, if you’re doing a £20 bet, you’ll need to bet £14 on this part of your bet. This is placed on the high-range numbers, from 19 to 36.

Second part: The second part of your bet is 25% of the total amount, which in this example is £5. This 25% of your bet goes on numbers from 13 to 18.

Third part: The final part of your bet comprises 5% of the total amount, so in this case, it’s £1. The 5% of your bet is placed on the number 0.

If you win on the first spin of the wheel, you continue with the same bet amount next time, but if you lose, you double the bet on the next spin to try to recoup the loss. If you lose again, you do the same thing repeatedly until you win.

Some players prefer to bet the same amount on every spin, regardless of a win or loss on the previous round.

James Bond Roulette strategy odds

You might be wondering whether or not applying the James Bond strategy actually changes the odds of winning, and the answer is no. Take a look at the odds below:

Bet Chance of winning
19 – 36 48.6%
13 – 18 16.2%
0 2.7%

Put simply, the James Bond strategy is just a combination bet, and the house edge still applies, which means you still have a chance of losing.

The risks of James Bond roulette strategy

When you’re playing online casino games like roulette, it’s important to remember that there are always risks involved. For that reason, it’s a good idea to look at our Safer Gambling page here at talkSPORT BET to learn about the tools available to help you stay in control.

The main risk of using the James Bond roulette strategy is that it can get very expensive very quickly if you use the progressive gameplay element, doubling your bet size after any loss. So, you need to be careful if you don’t have a very big budget. Even placing small total bets of just a few pounds can increase very quickly if you’re on a losing streak and you need to keep doubling your bet amount to try to recoup the losses.

Because the James Bond strategy doesn’t cover numbers 1 – 12 on the table, you’ll always have a 12/37 chance of losing on any one spin of the wheel.
