Mike Tyson v Jake Paul: Bet on Iron Mike’s Return to the Ring

Posted on November 14, 2024November 14, 2024 By Kane Forster

Mike Tyson’s return to boxing has many fans expecting great things when he faces off against YouTuber Jake Paul in Texas.

But with such an age gap between the two and the fact that Iron Mike hasn’t boxed since 2005, what can we expect from the legendary heavyweight champion?

Join us as we look ahead to Mike Tyson v Jake Paul and learn how to place boxing bets at talkSPORT BET ahead of this iconic fight.

When and where is Tyson vs Paul?

Tyson and Paul will enter the ring in the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight is scheduled for November 15th, 2024, and will be live-streamed on Netflix. All subscribers can watch the fight on the streaming platform.

Paul is stepping up to the heavyweight class for the first time, while Tyson returns to the ring for the first time since an exhibition fight in 2005.

Tyson v Paul Preview – What Can We Expect?

So, how do you call a fight between one of the greatest boxers ever and a YouTuber-turned-fighter? It’s not the easiest preview to write.

Tyson was the most-feared boxer of his generation. He won 44 career fights by knockout and reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion between 1987 and 1990.

His debut in the professional ring was a sign of things to come. He stopped Hector Merced in one minute and 47 seconds in Albany, NY, following a flurry of blows that resulted in a TKO win.

Tyson knocked out his first 19 opponents, 12 in the first round. These 19 fights came in just over a year, highlighting just how prolific he was in those early years.

It was no surprise that he became the youngest heavyweight champion ever at 20 when he unleashed a devastating attack on Trevor Berbick in Las Vegas in 1986.

Future fights led Tyson to defeat Marvis Frazier and Michael Spinks, though a TKO defeat to Evander Holyfield and the infamous ear-bite scandal left a blemish on his record.

Still, many of Paul’s fans know Tyson as the guy who appeared in the Hangover movie with a tiger. But you can be sure Paul’s camp won’t underestimate its opponent, even though he’s 31 years older than the YouTube star.

To be fair to Paul, he has shown impressive talent, strength, and resilience in the ring. He has ten wins from 11 fights and seven wins by KO. Can he knock out Mike Tyson? You decide.

There would be zero doubt about the outcome if these two met at Tyson’s prime rather than Paul’s. But as the YouTuber has age on his side and is at the peak of his physical condition, the odds are in his favour ahead of their meeting in Texas.
